BB1 hair type consists of loose curls or waves that tend to be silky or shiny without product. It can be thin or thick as a whole but the strands are usually thin to average size.
This type can range from fine or silky big curls and waves; dry big curls and waves; or small curls that are very fine and thin.
BB2 hair type usually consists of medium size curls that are average thickness and fullness but the texture is not overly silky looking without product. It can be slightly thread-like and frizzy, but easy to tame. It's weight can usually weigh it down so it does not need a heavy product.
BB3 hair type consists of finger size curls with a thread-like texture that tends to be dry and poofy and not too difficult to tame. It can also be slightly stiff or wiry. The curls may also fall in an ‘S’ pattern instead of a ringlet type pattern. The S pattern type may not need a heavy product, as it may fall downwards and be easily weighed down. Some types may grow outward and need a heavier product if it is desired it fall downward.
BB4 hair type consists of medium to highly textured, pencil size curls that can be thick and wiry, or may be soft and 'fluffy' feeling. It is usually dry and frizzy without product, but can be defined with a rich cream/gel product. Often strands are average to thick in width. Curls may also appear in an 'S' fashion but most-likely a ringlet pattern.
BB5 hair type consists of either highly textured tiny crimps/kinks or coils. It can be thick and wiry or thread-like. It is usually dry and frizzy without product. Often strands are average to thick in width. It is not always full, and can be sparse. Sometimes this hair type defines well in tiny coils with a cream/gel product. Other times does not define well and simply needs moisture to stay healthy, and so no gel is needed.
